A note from the Executive Director:
With very bittersweet emotions, I would like to announce my resignation as the Executive Director. It has been an incredibly rewarding 19 months. A couple of highlights:
  • In consult with the Board (Cathy Weaver, Stephanie Lillard, Aaron Cubbage, Megan Gordon, to name a few), we drafted a new 10-year plan with the goal of creating a more resilient and violence-free Page County.
  • The Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce recognized Choices staff for their incredible work supporting clients to find healing and transformation in their lives.
  • We partnered with the Page Alliance For Community Action, Page County Public Schools, and W Luray Recreation Center to support Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities with our youth.
  • We hired more staff, to include a licensed therapist, and expanded and renovated our space to support more community based clients. Come check it out. It’s beautiful!
  • And last not but least (though there are many more partnerships not listed here), we worked with Luray Police Department, Page County Sheriff’s Office, and Stanley Police to help those in crisis receive urgent services.
I am so proud of where we have come. But, now it is time for me to continue on the journey I started three years ago and move forward with a career and grad school focused on sustainable agriculture and forest conservation.
